I have years of experience playing solo and chamber music recitals, either full-length programmes of two halves of roughly 40 minutes each, or shorter continuous selections from 45-60 minutes in length.

My speciality is preparing themed programmes, and recent popular examples include:

“Around the World in 80 Minutes” – shortened to 60 or 45 minutes if required
Includes music by Debussy, Beethoven (or Mozart), Liszt, Rachmaninov, Sun Yiqiang, Ginastera, Chopin.

“From Russia with Music”
      Rachmaninov, Shostakovich, Scriabin, Mussorgsky

“Aspects of Nature”
Bartok, Beethoven (or Janacek), Sculthorpe, Liszt, Debussy

Although I really enjoy building a programme around a central theme, the repertoire is sufficiently varied to allow me to create a well-balanced general selection incorporating classical, romantic, impressionist and modern styles.

I play in a variety of different venues including concert halls, recital rooms, private salons and churches. If no suitable instrument is available I can either suggest how one may be hired or bring my own electronic piano.

In recent years I have established a regular group of annual events throughout Scotland, as far afield as Edinburgh and Tongue. These include music society recitals, private parties, charity concerts and corporate events.

I am always happy to discuss with event organisers the format of the event and the length and content of the musical programme and to tailor the choice of music to the taste of the expected audience.
